Navratri Saptami: How Yogi, Gadkari and Rekha Gupta Invoked Maa Kalaratri’s ‘Fearlessness’

 Key Highlights

  • Saptami worship: The seventh day of Shardiya Navratri, Saturday, October 17, is dedicated to Maa Kalaratri, the seventh form of Goddess Durga.
  • Yogi's prayer: UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath prayed for the removal of all obstacles and the spread of happiness, peace and prosperity, and shared a Sanskrit verse.
  • Gadkari's wish: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari prayed that Maa Kalaratri dispel negative energies and bless everyone with happiness and peace.
  • Rekha Gupta's message: Delhi CM Rekha Gupta highlighted faith, courage and resolve as the path to victory over every darkness.
  • Calendar note: Saptami Tithi touches two sunrises this year, so some traditions, including Bengal's Durga Puja, mark Maha Saptami on October 18.

As the festive season enters its final stretch, prominent leaders from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and the Union Cabinet marked the seventh day of Shardiya Navratri on Saturday with prayers to Maa Kalaratri. Taken together, their messages carried a strikingly similar theme: the triumph of courage over fear and of light over darkness.

Yogi Adityanath Seeks End to Obstacles

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered his greetings through a post on X. He wrote: "Countless salutations at the feet of Maa Kalaratri, the seventh form of Adishakti Maa Durga, who grants fearlessness to her devotees. May all obstacles and hindrances be removed by the grace of Maa Kalaratri, may auspiciousness enter everyone's life, and may the light of happiness, peace and prosperity spread everywhere. Jai Maa Kalaratri."

The Chief Minister also shared a Sanskrit verse in praise of the goddess.
