KKR all-rounder narrated a horrifying story of the time of Operation Sindoor, said felt like we were at war..

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Moeen Ali has recalled his own experiences regarding moments of concern for his family during "Operation Sindoor," when India launched its counter-attack after the terror attack at Pahalgam. The Indian Army launched precision strikes on terror bases in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK) and Pakistan at that time. Moeen Ali and his wife and children were in India during that period, and he used to play IPL.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 came to a halt owing to the strained standoff between India and Pakistan. Here it is to be noted that Moeen Ali is one among the foreign players who did not return to India when season 18 of IPL started following the ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

Moeen Ali, while speaking on the 'Beard Before Wicket' podcast, revealed that his parents were in PoK when 'Operation Sindoor' was started by the Indian Army. The Kolkata Knight Riders cricketer said that his parents were just an hour away from the part of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir where the missile attacks took place. After these attacks, the family left PoK on the next flight. Somehow, I was very happy to see them leaving from there, but it was dangerous for me to see all this.

He said that after India, Pakistan also attacked. It felt like we were stuck in the middle of a war. However, we did not hear the sound of any kind of explosions. We want to leave India with the family as soon as possible. I was very worried for my family.

On the IPL being stopped, Moeen Ali said, people did not know exactly what was happening or how things were. I spoke to a lot of people. Some of them were like, 'There will be no war; everything will be fine. These things have happened before. Some people were like, 'I think there will be war. I think there will be some kind of retaliation or whatever you want to call it. The former England all-rounder said that he was most worried about the cancellation of flights, as the foreign players were eagerly looking forward to returning.

We were most afraid that the flight might get cancelled, otherwise we would be stranded in India. It was a very difficult time for the foreign players present in India and Pakistan.
