Monday night saw a highly entertaining match in the Delhi Premier League as South Delhi Superstars won over West Delhi Lions by 10 wickets. West Delhi posted a score of 169 runs courtesy of Nitish Rana, who hit a sensational fifty. A touching moment was seen on the ground as Nitish Rana burst into tears in remembrance of his mother. Following that, the players of the other team and the umpire came to offer their condolences.

Nitish Rana shed tears in the middle of the ground when he hit a fifty in this particular match. He dedicated this fifty to his mother, who died on 7th August 2026 due to an illness. Nitish Rana rejoined the Delhi Premier League (DPL) and took the field with the name of his mother "N. SATISH" written on the back of his jersey.

While chasing 170 runs, South Delhi Superstars managed to chase it down in just 15.2 overs without losing any wicket due to the wonderful hundred of Sanat Sangwan and half-century of Anmol Sharma.

In this match, Sanat Sangwan scored an unbeaten 111 runs off 54 balls, including 10 sixes and six fours. Anmol Sharma remained unbeaten on 50 runs off 38 balls, hitting six fours and one six. South Delhi won the toss and elected to bowl first. West Delhi Lions had a poor start. Krish Yadav was dismissed for 25 off 26 balls, while Ankit Kumar made 11. Nitish Rana then rained sixes and fours, smashing 60 off 33 balls. He hit six sixes and four fours in his innings.

Ayush Doosre then scored 27 off 20 balls. Subsequently, six lower-order batsmen failed to reach double figures, and the team was all out for 169 in 19.5 overs. Anshuman Hooda took four wickets, while Ankit Dabas and Vivek Tiwari each took two wickets. This was South Delhi's fourth win of the season, placing them in fourth place with eight points. West Delhi Lions are sixth after winning three matches.
