IPL Auction 2024: CSK and SRH fight over Travis Head, Kaviya Maran wins in the end

Sunrisers Hyderabad showered money on Travis Head, who played an important role in Australia winning the ODI World Cup. There was a battle between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings. The bid had reached Rs 5 crore. In the end, Chennai had to retreat. Hyderabad has bought Head for Rs 6.80 crore.

It is noteworthy that in the mini-auction of IPL auction 2024, all 10 teams will bet on players for 77 slots. A total of 333 players have given their names for the auction. Of the 333 players shortlisted for the auction, 214 are Indians, while 119 are foreign players. The first player to be sold in the auction was West Indies all-rounder Roman Powell. He was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 7.40 crore.

There was also a fight between the two teams regarding Australia's Travis Head. The bidding between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad went up to Rs 5 crore. In the end, Chennai Super Kings took a step back. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought it for 6.80 crores. Travis Head will play IPL for the first time. Sunrisers have saved a lot of money in their purse by releasing Harry Brook early.

Australia's star player Steve Smith had kept his base price at Rs 2 crore, but he did not find any buyer. None of all 10 teams showed interest in him. Steve Smith has played IPL before also. However, teams can still place their bets on him in the end.
