On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a nationwide cleanliness campaign. This campaign is run every year on 2nd October. It was organized this year also. The countrymen participated enthusiastically in this campaign conducted under the leadership of PM Modi and made it successful.

The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry on Tuesday said the nationwide cleanliness drive launched on October 1 in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal saw participation of 8.75 crore people at over nine lakh locations across the country.

On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti, PM Modi also emphasized fitness and wellness along with cleanliness and led a nationwide cleanliness drive.
