CG Sports News: 70 players from Bilaspur left for national skating competition Raipur
CG Sports News: Every year dozens of children from the city are winning gold medals in the national tournament of roller skating.
More than 70 players from the district have left for the national skating competition starting on June 6 in Raipur. The coach of the participants has expressed full hope that even though there is a lack of resources, the players of the district will be able to win medals by performing better.
Bilaspur Roller Sports Association President Nilesh Madewar says that children from urban and rural areas are now joining this sport. However, due to the lack of tracks of national standards, the training of children is affected. For better training of players, tracks of national standards are needed. So that children can also see this sport as a career option.
Coach A. Franklin says that there is no arrangement of proper track for the roller skating players here. Children are winning gold medals in the nationals by practicing in parking lots and on the roads early in the morning. There is only one ground in the railways, and that too is very small. If we want to see these children playing in the Olympics, then we need a skating track of that level for them.
Punit Madewar, Nidan Madewar, Shriya Sarkar, Binoy, Pranjal, Sahil Yadav, Sikha Chawla, Aviral Gupta, and other Bilaspur athletes have won gold, silver, and bronze medals in national roller sports competitions. All of the players are hoping to win medals in the national competition, which will be held in Raipur.
Roller skating has grown in popularity among the younger generation in recent years. According to Nilesh Madewar, President of the Bilaspur Roller Sports Association, over 500 Bilaspur children have already joined this sport. Every year, hundreds of children from throughout the state participate in this sport. Every year, dozens of city children win gold medals at the national roller skating tournament. Bilaspur's roller skating players are mainly preparing for two events - in-line and quad.
