Today Jorhat Police of Assam has taken action against some people associated with the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Jorhat Superintendent of Police Mohan Lal Meena said that the police, taking suo motu cognizance, have registered a case against some people in connection with Congress' Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

A charge has been filed against a few yatra participants since the police were unaware of the initial route alteration of the present yatra spearheaded by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi travelled to Majuli, an island in Assam, on Friday, the sixth day of his visit, by boat across the Brahmaputra river. On Friday, the party released a picture of Rahul on a boat on the Brahmaputra with other Congress leaders and employees.

The BJP government led by Himanta Biswa Sarma, according to Congressman Jairam Ramesh, is attempting to ruin the Bharat Jodo Yatra. He stated that the state government is working tirelessly to prevent the Bharat Jodo Yatra from being successful in Assam during our stay, which runs till January 25.

Jairam stated that although the Assamese government is putting up barriers in the way, we are sure that women and young people in Assam will pay attention to Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul also aimed at the Himanta government, saying that the state was run by the "most corrupt government in the nation." Rahul said that the RSS and BJP were inciting enmity.
