32 out of 47 political parties supported One Nation, One Election, and 83% of people supported it by email

Seven MPs asked questions in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday about what is happening in the country regarding the 'One Nation One Election'. What is the perception of political parties about it, what did the common people say, etc. Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Law and Justice, Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal said, in the report received after discussions with stakeholders in detail, 47 political parties have given feedback. In this, 32 parties have consented and 15 have opposed simultaneous elections. Opinions of the people were also sought through email. In this, 83 percent of the people have supported 'One Nation One Election'.

The MPs who asked questions on 'One Nation One Election' include Dr. Bhagwat Karad, Kiran Chaudhary, Brij Lal, Narhari Amin, Narayan Koragappa, Lahar Singh Siroya and Subhash Barala. The Rajya Sabha MPs asked the Law and Justice Minister, how much in-depth discussion has been held with the political parties of the caountry on this subject. Second, how many political parties are in support of 'One Country One Election' and how many are against it. Third, what is the number of responses received from across the country during the consultation process, and fourth, what is the ratio of responses in favor of 'One Country One Election'.

In response to the above questions, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Ministry of Law and Justice, and Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, said that the government had constituted a high-level committee under the chairmanship of former President of India Ram Nath Kovind to examine the methods of conducting simultaneous elections. The committee has submitted its report only after extensive consultations with stakeholders.

According to the report, 47 political parties have given feedback. In this, 32 parties agreed and 15 disagreed with holding simultaneous elections. The report also states that the website feedback analysis on simultaneous elections received 5232 responses. Out of these, 3837 supported the idea, while 1395 opposed it.

Regarding the responses received through the post, the report mentions that 154 postal responses have been received. Out of these, 109 supported the idea and 45 opposed it. The report further states that 16172 responses were received through email. Out of these, 83 percent (13396) of responses were in favor of simultaneous elections, while 17 percent (2776) were against simultaneous elections.
