Tamil Nadu: Eight Tamil citizens return home from battlefield Israel, welcomed by District Collector at Madurai Airport

Eight people from Tamil Nadu stranded in Israel have returned to their country. On behalf of the Tamil Nadu government, the Madurai District Collector welcomed the eight people who arrived at the Madurai airport on Sunday. Information about 128 Tamils stranded in Israel was received through helpline numbers. Of these, 21 Tamils reached New Delhi in the first batch on Saturday and 49 Tamils returned home safely on Friday.

Eight people from Tamil Nadu stranded in Israel have returned to their country. On behalf of the Tamil Nadu government, the Madurai District Collector welcomed the eight people who arrived at the Madurai airport on Sunday. Earlier on Friday, the Tamil Nadu government had informed that 49 Tamils stranded in Israel have returned home safely.

In this regard, a press release issued by the Tamil Nadu government said, "The war between Israel and Palestine has intensified, information about 128 Tamils stranded there was received through the helpline numbers issued by the Tamil Nadu government. Out of these, 21 Tamils. The first batch reached New Delhi on Saturday. From there they were transported to their homes by the Tamil Nadu government."

In the second phase, 28 Tamils from Madurai, Dindigul, Karur, Tenkasi, Dharmapuri, Tiruppur, Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Chennai, Villupuram, Tiruppur, Salem, Coimbatore etc. reached New Delhi on Saturday in a special flight from Israel.

'Operation Ajeya' has been launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to bring back around 18,000 Indians to Israel. Registration of Indians started on Thursday, in which more than 6 thousand people have registered so far.

It has been more than a week since the war broke out between Hamas and Israel. So far, more than 1,300 Israelis have been killed in this war and several thousand people have been injured. At the same time, more than 1,000 Palestinians have also been killed in Israeli retaliation. The Indian Embassy in Israel is providing assistance to Indian companies and has issued a helpline number for Indian citizens needing assistance.
