This order was given to DMRC in 2017. ‘Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited’ is a Reliance Infrastructure company.

Supreme Court ruled in favour of DMRC, DAMEPL will not have to pay Rs 8000 crore

The Supreme Court delivered a severe blow to seasoned businessman Anil Ambani. In a case involving Delhi Metro, the Supreme Court granted DMRC relief.

The Supreme Court has handed Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) a major reprieve by ruling that it is not required to pay 'Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited' Rs 8,000 crore. In 2017, DMRC received this order. One Reliance Infrastructure company is "Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited."

By accepting the DMRC's curative petition, the Supreme Court has dealt Anil Ambani a serious blow. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) successfully argued its case for a remedy after its review petition against the verdict was denied by a bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud.

The judgment said that the amount deposited so far by DMRC will be refunded and the parties will be reinstated to the position they were in on the date of announcement of the Delhi High Court judgment. A detailed decision is awaited.
