Severe cold wave in many places minimum temperature reaches -10 degrees

Several areas of North India are facing severe cold these days. In fact, you'll shocked to know that India's north-eastern state Odisha, which is not used to be very cold has a temperature of -10 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, a severe cold wave swept through North Odisha, due to which cold wreaked havoc in the Ramtirtha area of the Mayurbhanj district of the state and the minimum temperature fell to minus 10 degrees Celsius.
According to the Odisha Forest Department, apart from Ramtirtha, other places that recorded temperatures were Gurguria and Barehipani at 6 degrees Celsius, Chahala at 4 degrees Celsius, Navana at -5 degrees Celsius, and Upper Barha Kamuda (UBK) at -3 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, Meteorological Department scientist Dr. Soma Sen Roy said that from now onwards, North and Central India will have the grip of cold wave conditions for one to two days, and the temperature of these areas is likely to rise by December 16-17. Soma Sen said that 'Northwest winds are blowing in northern India, and southeast direction winds will blow. From this, the temperature inside the capital Delhi may drop by 1 or 2 degrees Celsius conditions. The cold wave is also blowing in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh. The temperature is likely to increase by December 16-17.
The Meteorological Department stated that the maximum temperature in Srinagar rose to 9 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was minus five degrees Celsius. These days, the plains are receiving severe cold due to snowfall in the mountains of North India. On Sunday, the minimum temperature recorded in the capital Delhi was seven degrees Celsius.
