India reported 791 drone intrusions along the International Border in 2025, mostly in Punjab and Rajasthan. Security forces grounded 237 drones using jammers. Jammu and Kashmir remains stable, while infiltration attempts rose after Operation Sindoor and brief India-Pakistan tensions.
A total of 791 drone intrusion incidents were reported along the International Border (IB) during 2025. Of these, nine incidents were recorded along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir and 782 along the International Border in Punjab and Rajasthan, the Ministry of Defence said on Wednesday.
The Ministry said that the use of their spoofers and jammers effectively reduced the drone threat in the West. A total of 237 drones were grounded by Indian security forces in the ongoing year. This includes five drones laden with explosives, 72 drones carrying narcotics, and 161 with no cargo.
The Ministry again reiterated that a total of 791 cases of drone intrusions had been reported this year, with most such incidents being seen in the areas surrounding both the states of Punjab and Rajasthan. According to the Ministry of Defense, the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir remains under complete control due to the continued efforts of the Indian Army. The Ministry stated that people are choosing the path of development and are actively participating in large numbers in various initiatives launched by the government and the Army. From a nationwide perspective, the level of violence has decreased, protests have decreased, and there have been no incidents of stone-pelting.

The review report also mentioned Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, in which at least 100 terrorists were killed in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which brutally killed 26 innocent people.
In this military operation, Indian armed forces carried out precision missile strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Following this, tensions persisted between India and Pakistan for four days. On May 10, after talks between military officials of the two countries over the hotline, an agreement was reached to cease military action, and the conflict ended. The ministry said the situation has stabilized following the DGMO-level talks on May 10 and 12. However, uncertainty persists. During this period, attempts by terrorists to infiltrate the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) from Pakistan have increased.
