WhatsApp is implementing a new feature for the Android app, which will provide an additional level of security to the chat. Based on WABetaInfo, a site that monitors WhatsApp features, this Meta messaging platform is testing a feature for advanced privacy in the chat. With this, it will be possible for users to avoid shared media being saved automatically in the recipient's gallery. This feature will also enable limitations based on privacy, including disallowing the exportation of the chat history, etc.

WABetaInfo said that this feature of WhatsApp will come in the future version of the app. This has been seen in WhatsApp Beta in version 2.25.10.4 of the Android app. This feature will be optional and can be toggled from the app settings. 'If the sender enables it, images or videos will not be auto-saved in the gallery of the receiver's device.'

According to the screenshots shared by WABetaInfo, if the receiver tries to save the media, a pop-up of 'Can't auto-save media' will appear. It will be written: Advanced Chat Privacy is on, which prevents media from being auto-saved in the gallery of your device.

Apart from this, WABetaInfo says that this feature can also offer other privacy-focused restrictions. WhatsApp can block the export of chat history containing messages from users who have turned on Advanced Chat Privacy. Apart from this, it will prevent the participant in the same conversation from interacting with the MetaAI chatbot. Meta AI is WhatsApp's artificial intelligence chatbot.

WhatsApp already has such a feature with disappearing messages, but this new feature will provide the same privacy in standard chats as well. WABetaInfo claims that this new feature is still in development and is not available even to beta testers. Those testers are registered with the Google Play Beta program. However, WhatsApp works on many new features, but not all of them reach public release.
