A Chinese technology firm called Baidu is in the process of making an AI system that can assist people in grasping animals' "language." Baidu has recently applied for a patent in the China National Intellectual Property Administration that talks about technology that transforms animals' voices, activity, and body signals into people's language through analysis.
According to Baidu, this AI system will first record animal voices like meowing, barking, etc. Along with this, their physical activities like walking pattern and heartbeat, will also be measured. Then by combining all this data, AI will guess whether the animal is happy, scared or hungry. After this, the system will convert these emotions into human words or sentences, which will make a deeper communication possible between humans and animals.
Baidu has said in its patent that this technology "will deepen the emotional communication and understanding between animals and humans and improve the accuracy and efficiency of communication between species." The company clarified that at present this project is in the research phase and it is not been decided when it will be launched.
