India NZ: New Zealand Navy Chief Rear Admiral Garin Golding met Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi on Tuesday. During this, the New Zealand Navy Chief discussed with General Upendra Dwivedi on increasing bilateral defense cooperation between the two countries. Apart from this, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi talked about enhancing naval relations, joint training initiatives, and maritime cooperation.

Rear Admiral Garin Golding of the New Zealand Navy met with Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi on Tuesday. On this occasion, the Chief of the Navy of New Zealand met General Upendra Dwivedi to discuss strengthening bilateral defense relations between the two countries. Along with this, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi discussed naval relations, joint exercises, and maritime cooperation.

Navy Chief Golding is on an official visit to India from March 16 to 21 to further maritime cooperation and relations between the Indian Navy and the Royal New Zealand Navy. Officials said that on Monday, Rear Admiral Golding attended the Raisina Dialogue. He paid homage to India's martyred heroes by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial on Tuesday. It was followed by a ceremonial guard of honor on the lawn of the South Block.

The New Zealand Navy Chief will interact with senior officials of the defense sector in India. This includes the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Air Force Chief, and Defence Secretary. A Navy spokesperson said that during his visit to Mumbai, Golding will interact with the personnel of the Western Naval Command. Also, he will visit the indigenous destroyer INS Surat and explore opportunities for future cooperation in ship maintenance and technology.

The spokesperson said that the visit of New Zealand Navy Chief Rear Admiral Garin Golding is an important step in the development of India-New Zealand defense relations. It will promote naval cooperation. It will also strengthen mutual interests in the Indo-Pacific region. Officials said that on March 20, a welcome ceremony will be organized by the Prime Minister of New Zealand on the naval ship HMNZS Te Kaha. This will further strengthen India-New Zealand maritime relations.

Luckson is on a visit to India from 16 to 20 March. He has arrived in India with a large delegation of New Zealand business and community leaders. He held detailed talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. He also addressed the inaugural session of the 'Raisina Dialogue' as the chief guest.
