Centre Tells Supreme Court It Will Decide on Gallantry Award for Ex-Police Officer by August 7
The Central Government informed the Supreme Court that it will provide a positive solution by August 7th regarding the award of the President's Gallantry Award to former police officer Vivek Singh Chauhan.
Wednesday’s statement from the Central Government informed the Supreme Court that it will give a final solution on August 7 regarding whether to award the President's Gallantry Award to a former police officer who shot dead two dacoits in an operation in 2003.
As per the orders given on July 20, the Supreme Court has expressed its dissatisfaction over the Central Government for not complying with the decision of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, which awarded the prize to former police officer Vivek Singh Chauhan.
In 2003, Chauhan was the SHO of Ghatigaon police station of Gwalior district. During an operation against the dacoits in a village, two dacoits were killed while Chauhan sustained injuries.The
