It is reported that Surabhi Khatoon is the name of the air hostess. Officers from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence detained Surabhi, a Kolkata resident, at the airport after receiving specific information from DRI Kochi.

After a personal search, 960 grams of smuggled gold in mixed form concealed in her rectum was recovered. After interrogation and necessary negotiations, she was produced before the jurisdictional magistrate and sent to Kannur women's prison for 14 days, the source told PTI.
