The founder of the biggest IT firm Infosys Technologies, NR Narayana Murthy is a man of strict work culture. Several times he has said that people should work 70 hours a week. He has been criticized a lot for this. However, many people also support his statement.

Narayana Murthy has once again defended his 70-hour statement. He says that only hard work will take India on the path of progress. He stated, "I clearly believe that people should work 70 hours. Sorry, my opinion has not changed. This opinion will remain with me till my death. In 1986, when India shifted from a 6-day working week to a 5-day working week, I was very sad. If the country has to develop, then we will have to sacrifice something and not relax."

Narayana Murthy also praised PM Narendra Modi. He said that PM Modi works 100 hours a week. If he can work so hard, why can't we? Narayana Murthy stressed that like the PM, people should also work harder and show how this country can be taken forward.

Narayana Murthy also suggested that the citizens of India draw a lesson from Germany and Japan. He said that the Second World War devastated Germany and Japan. However, both countries toiled and regained their wealth. According to Narayana Murthy, India also needs to follow the same route, and in this way, the reconstruction of the nation will be possible. We have to make efforts like the people of Germany and Japan did.

Narayana Murthy has appealed to PM Narendra Modi to select IAS-IPS officers from business schools too. He said the government need not depend only on the UPSC exam for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The selection of the civil service officers from management schools may be considered. He said, 'PM Modi has done a great job in accelerating the economy. He can now consider whether we need more managers instead of administrators in the government.'
