Indian telecom sector aims to achieve 10% share in 6G patents in the next three years
Indian Telecom: The Indian telecom sector has set a target of achieving 10 percent share in 6G patents in the coming three years. This information was given in a statement on Saturday. Along with this, a roadmap has also been prepared for this in the coming three years.
Indian telecom players are looking to capture 10% share in the patents of 6G within the next three years. An official statement on Saturday said that one in six shares in global standards should be captured during the next three years.
The system has aligned the proposal on which the research has been worked out by telecom industry players. In this, the SAC, Stakeholders Advisory Committee, has taken up a Vibrant and Standard Community proposal in the second meeting held on Saturday. This, TSP—Telecom Service Provider—was held on Friday under the leadership of Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The industry leaders have set a target to capture 10 percent of all 6G patents worldwide within a period of three years. The telecom operators said in a statement in the first SAC, We have identified a few areas where the gap exists in international and Indian share of Standard Essential Patents, that is, SEP, and connectivity. Added to this, issues regarding the quality of the service in telecom were discussed in the meeting.
It was also said that some initiatives have been started. This includes the launch of India 6G Vision and India 6G Alliance. Along with this, patent and IPR support framework and testbeds commissioning etc. India has to bring one-sixth of the global level to itself.
The SAC put forward a proposal and a roadmap for the next three years. Along with this, the official statement said that India can become a deep tech leader. India can come forward in wireline and intelligence wireless broadband networks. In such a situation, Minister Scindia asked the SAC members about this difficult path and discussed it with different stakeholders in this regard. The official statement said that all the country's citizens should get better telecom service.
Reliance Jio Managing Director Pankaj Pawar, Vodafone Idea CEO Akshay Mundra, BSNL Chairman Managing Director Robert J Ravi, Tejas Network Board Director Chairman, NG Subramaniam and Industry COAI Director General SP Kochar participated in this meeting. Telecom operators want to achieve 100 percent coverage across the country in broadband network through investors.
