Independence Day is celebrated in Pakistan on 14 August. However, in Karachi, it became a mourning day. Actually, three individuals became martyrs due to uncontrolled aerial firing. An old man and an innocent eight-year-old girl are among the deceased.

Besides this, over 60 individuals were injured by bullets. Local media reported that these accidents occurred in various areas of the city where people were celebrating Independence.

As soon as midnight struck in Pakistan, the sky over Karachi resounded with gunfire and fireworks. In this period, indiscriminate shootings occurred in most areas, claiming the lives of innocent individuals.

The police have appealed to the people to celebrate in a safe manner. An eight-year-old girl was suddenly shot in Azizabad Block-8 of Karachi. After this, she died on the spot. There was no chance to take her to the hospital.

On the other hand, a man named Stephen lost his life in Korangi due to a bullet injury when he was going somewhere. Another person also died due to aerial firing.

According to reports, 64 people were injured by bullets, who were admitted to different hospitals in the city. The condition of many is critical. These incidents took place in areas like Liaquatabad, Baldia, Korangi, Kemari, Lyari, Akhtar Colony, Mahmoodabad, Jackson, Orangi Town, and Paposh Nagar.
