‘Abhay’: Central Bureau of Investigation Unveils AI Chatbot to Help Citizens Identify Fraudulent ‘Digital Arrest’ Scams
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is launching an AI chatbot called 'Abhay' to combat cyber frauds like 'Digital Arrest'. This chatbot will help citizens identify fake notices, helping them avoid falling prey to fraudsters.
Common citizens, whose tranquility and money were lost because of getting trapped in the horrific scheme of "Digital Arrest" at the hands of cybercriminals, can finally draw some consolation from this news. The Central Bureau of Investigation has come up with a novel way to tackle this cyber menace.
The bureau has announced the launch of an AI-enabled chatbot named “Abhay,” which will aid individuals to detect whether the notice received by them is authentic or not. Abhay – The Age of Digital Extortioners. The technology-driven safety net will be unveiled on Monday.
Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant will dedicate 'Abhay' to the nation during the 22nd 'D.P. Kohli Memorial Lecture', organized in memory of the founding CBI Director, D.P. Kohli. Sharing the serious situation, a CBI spokesperson said, "In many cases, it has been observed that fraudsters, posing as CBI officers, display fake notices. They hold people hostage by threatening them with digital arrest and extort crores of rupees illegally."
