MG Majestor Expected to Get 8-Speed Automatic Transmission

MG Motors deals with multiple segments of vehicles across India. The company is gearing up for the launch of its new SUV, MG Majestor. Automaker MG is preparing to launch the MG Majestor as its new SUV soon. According to reports, this SUV is undergoing testing ahead of its launch, during which it has been spotted.
The manufacturer is testing the SUV’s limits before it hits the market. During this period, the SUV was completely camouflaged and was being tested for its capability in off-road driving.
Information regarding the SUV's engine has not been provided by the manufacturer as of now, though it is assumed that it will be equipped with petrol as well as diesel engines. Power output will be 184 kW, and torque output will be 410 Nm with a petrol engine, whereas a turbodiesel will have a power output of 160 kW with a torque output of 500 Nm. Both engines will also offer 4X4 capability. The petrol engine can reach a top speed of 190 kmph, while the diesel variant can reach a top speed of 175 kmph. It is expected to be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

MG Motors is expected to offer a number of impressive features in the Majestor. It could include LED headlights, LED DRLs, a large front grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, a dual-tone exterior, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a dual-tone interior, a Type-C USB charging port, a push-button start/stop, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charging port, and multiple driving modes. Safety features include six airbags, ABS, EBD, hill assist, BSD, LCA, RCTA, DOW, self-adaptive cruising, and ADAS.
This SUV from JSW MG was officially unveiled in the Indian market during the Auto Expo 2025, which took place between January 17 and 22, 2025.
MG has just introduced this SUV in India. However, accurate pricing will be available only at the time of launch. The expected ex-showroom price of the JSW MG Majestor could be between Rs 40 and 50 lakh.
JSW MG will launch the Majestor in the D+ SUV segment. It is expected that this SUV may be officially launched in India around June-July 2025. After which, it will directly compete with SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner Legender.
