ICC Shifts Women’s ODI World Cup Matches from Bengaluru to Navi Mumbai Over Safety Concerns
ICC has changed the schedule of Women's ODI World Cup starting from 30th of next month. The apex body of cricket has taken away the hosting from one stadium in India and given it to another stadium and after this has issued a statement informing about this.
ICC has rescheduled Women's ODI World Cup to be hosted next month jointly by India and Sri Lanka. ICC has removed the hosting of M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and assigned it to some other stadium.
The games of this World Cup will be hosted by a total of five venues. One among those venues was M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru where games will no longer be conducted. ICC made an announcement on Friday stating that the games that were to be conducted in Bengaluru will now be hosted by DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
A total of five matches were to be played in this stadium, out of which three matches were of the league stage and one was a semi-final match, if the Indian team reached the final, then this title match would also have been played in this stadium. All these matches will now be held at DY Patil Stadium. Actually, the Karnataka government has found the Chinnaswamy Stadium unsafe for organizing matches and for this reason the ICC has taken over the hosting from this stadium.
