Google Safety Charter: In view of the increasing cases of online scams in India, Google has taken a big step. The company has launched the 'Google Safety Charter', which will help protect users from cyber fraud and provide a safe browsing experience.
Online fraud cases are steadily increasing in the country, where on a daily basis, thousands fall prey to phishing websites, bogus apps, and fraud calls. Keeping this in view, Google has started a dedicated India-oriented security initiative. The corporation has announced a fresh cyber safety charter called 'Google Safety Charter', which is aimed at securing Internet users and keeping trust in digital media in place.
Google Safety Charter is actually a cybersecurity charter, which has been specially drawn up keeping in view Indian users. Its priority is securing the Internet better, securing individuals against fraud as well as scams, and creating a responsible Internet environment.
According to this charter, priority would be given by Google only to those apps and websites that follow its policy of permission for use of user data in a transparent and secure manner. Apart from this, Google is introducing new systems in the Play Store that would be able to detect fake, cloned, and monetary fraud apps even beforehand and disable them. Through this, the company would from time to time send warnings, suggestions, as well as safety alerts, to users for browsing in a safe manner.
