Google has released a special doodle on International Women's Day 2025 in honor of women who have been successful in their professional pursuits in the field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). The women have made notable contributions in research in space, historical research, and laboratory research that have helped us learn more about physics, chemistry, and biology.

Google said in its message, "This doodle celebrates International Women's Day. The United Nations first officially recognized this day in 1975, to underline the important contributions of women around the world."

However, Google also mentioned that women's participation in STEM fields is still limited. According to the data, women account for only 29 percent of the global STEM workforce. Google further said, "This contribution of women reflects the progress being made towards gender equality, yet STEM is an area where significant gaps still remain."

The United Nations first celebrated March 8 as International Women's Day in 1975. Since then, this annual event has inspired recognition of the cultural, political, social, and economic achievements of women around the world. The purpose of celebrating this day is to eliminate gender discrimination and inequality and encourage efforts towards equality.

The theme of International Women's Day this year is "Accelerate Action", which aims to identify and implement strategies, resources, and positive activities for the advancement of women in a more effective way.
