On Monday, the gold price in Delhi has increased threshold of one lakh rupees due to increased demand, due to a weak dollar, and uncertainties increased by the US-China trade war. The price of gold has come close to the psychological level of one lakh rupees per 10 grams with a rise of Rs 1,650.

According to the All India Sarafa Association, the price of gold with 99.9 percent purity reached Rs 99,800 per 10 grams on Monday. On Friday, its price fell by Rs 20 to close at Rs 98,150 per 10 grams.

In the local market, the price of gold of 99.5 per cent purity jumped by Rs 1,600 to a new peak of Rs 99,300 per 10 grams. In the previous trading session, it had closed with a marginal decline at Rs 97,700 per 10 grams.

So far this year, the prices of the yellow metal have risen by Rs 20,850 or 26.41 per cent per 10 grams since December 31 last year. The price of silver also rose by Rs 500 to Rs 98,500 per kg. On Friday, the price of silver remained stable at Rs 98,000 per kg.
