According to the data released by the government on Tuesday, India's exports have increased marginally after four months. The country's exports increased by 0.7 percent to $ 41.97 billion in March. However, in the meantime, our trade deficit increased to $ 21.54 billion.
Talking about the financial year 2024-25 (April 2024 to March 2025), India's total exports reached $ 437.42 billion with a marginal increase of 0.08 percent. However, during this period, the country's imports increased by 6.62 percent to $ 720.24 billion, increasing the trade deficit to $ 282.82 billion.
The government has stated in its data that the country's trade deficit was at $ 14.05 billion in February. In March last year, the trade deficit i.e. the difference between imports and exports was $ 15.33 billion. Earlier, during the financial year 2023-24, the trade deficit was $ 241.14 billion. Talking about imports, in March it increased by 11.3% or $ 65.51 billion, the highest in four months on an annual basis.
