In fact, on November 14, a flight full of 187 passengers was going from Nagpur to Kolkata. In this flight, a person named Animesh Mandal allegedly told the crew after the Indigo flight took off that there was a bomb in the plane, after which the flight was diverted to Raipur. After a thorough investigation, the information was found to be baseless. Mandal was arrested on the basis of giving false information.
According to information received from news agency PTI, Mandal has been arrested by Raipur Police under Section 351 (4) (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication) of the Indian Justice Code and the provisions of the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against Civil Aviation Security Act, 1982.
