A Smartphone With a Detachable Camera? Ulefone’s New Device Could Change Photography
MWC 2026: The smartphone industry could receive a major surprise at MWC 2026. Ulefone is set to introduce its RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro, which could be the world's first phone with a detachable camera. Its camera can be detached from the phone and used as an action camera.
Tech company Ulefone has teased its upcoming smartphone, the Ulefone RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro. It is likely to be launched at the Mobile World Congress 2026 (MWC 2026) event in Barcelona, which will begin on March 2. According to the company's press release, this will be the world's first smartphone with a camera that can be detached from the phone's body.
There are already many powerful camera smartphones available in the market, but this is the first time that the camera can be removed and used as an action camera.
The highlight of the smartphone is that its camera can be removed using a magnet. Ulefone has not yet confirmed whether it is the primary or secondary camera, but it will be a thumb-sized camera that can be removed easily from the smartphone.

Once detached, it can be used as a small action camera. The phone's screen can be used as a remote monitor while taking photos or recording videos. It's also reported that this camera will also have a small battery that can provide up to 30 minutes of backup. However, the company hasn't yet shared full technical details.
The Ulefone RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro will feature a 6.67-inch, 1.5K resolution display. It will feature an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is expected to ensure smooth screen performance and improved visual quality.
The phone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 5G processor. This chipset is known for its strong performance in the mid-to-premium segment. It can provide a better experience in gaming, multitasking, and high-resolution video recording.
The phone will feature a 50MP main camera. A 64MP night vision camera is also reported, which will help with low-light photography. Regarding the battery, the company is going to provide a large 9000mAh battery. Such a large battery is rarely seen in common smartphones, which will ensure long-term use.
