1,056 units of Suzuki Hayabusa superbike recalled in India, know the reason
Suzuki Hayabusa Recall: Suzuki Motorcycle India has issued a voluntary recall for the Hayabusa due to a potential problem.

Suzuki Motorcycle India has issued a voluntary recall for the Hayabusa due to a potential problem in the front brake. With 1,056 units affected, the Suzuki Hayabusa third-generation model is also included in the recall's scope. The recall appears to have impacted a significant number of vehicles of the third-generation Hayabusa, which went on sale in India in 2021.
According to the recall notification, Suzuki said, "There is a problem with the front brake lever. In the worst case, the lever contacts the throttle grip, and the braking distance increases."
This means the front brake lever of the recalled bikes has been affected which may become soft upon pressing and contact the handlebar. However, the front brake may not apply as firmly as one would expect, leading to increased braking distances. It is a safety concern per se and can be life-threatening in an emergency braking situation. Suzuki is supposed to contact the customers individually for the recall. But the company has not announced officially the details about the order.
Braking had always remained a concern in this previous generation Hayabusa. However, Suzuki fixed this in the third generation model and brought top of the line Brembo Stylema brake calipers at the front-American company make some of the best in the business. This superbike gets twin 320mm discs 10 mm larger than the previous generation model.
Given the ballistic speeds that the Hayabusa is capable of achieving, it needs equally strong brakes. And that surely is also one of the crucial issues concerning the vehicle owners. The motorcycle draws power from the 1,340 cc inline four-cylinder engine. The unit is good for a power output of 190bhp and peak torque of 142 Nm. This gets paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Suzuki Hayabusa is one of the easiest bikes to ride, considering its size. And it is also easy in terms of achieving triple-digit speeds. Its smooth and tractable motor makes it very powerful. Which makes it a great grand tourer besides being a great bike on the racing tracks. Among the few superbikes to be locally assembled in India, comes the Hayabusa.
The 2024 Suzuki Hayabusa is priced at Rs 16.90 lakh (ex-showroom). In the Indian market, this bike competes with the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, BMW S 1000 RR, Ducati Panigale V4 and many other 1000cc motorcycles. However, its closest rival was the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R, which is now discontinued.
