Yamaha Motor India Appoints Hajime Aota as New Chairman, Effective January 2026
Yamaha Motor India: India Yamaha Motor Private Limited on Tuesday announced the appointment of Hajime Aota as the new Chairman of the Yamaha Motor India Group, effective January 1, 2026.
A significant transition has been witnessed in the leadership of the Yamaha Motor India Group in India. India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd has reported the appointment of Hajime Aota as the new Chairman of the organization, which came into effect from January 1, 2026. This decision has been taken at a time when the two-wheeler segment in India has been experiencing a dramatic shift.
Before joining this different capacity in the Indian market, Hajime Aota previously worked as an Executive Officer at the international headquarters for the Yamaha Motor Company in Japan. Secondly, his other experience was as the Chief General Manager (CSO), in the Corporate Strategy Center. According to the company, he has extensive experience in developing corporate strategy, corporate planning, and new business ventures in the automotive sector.
Hajime Aota has held senior leadership roles in key global markets such as Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom throughout his career. This international experience has allowed him to closely understand the needs and consumer behavior of different markets. The company believes this global perspective will be crucial for Yamaha in a diverse and competitive market like India.

Reacting to his appointment, Hajime Aota said that taking on the leadership of Yamaha in India is a significant responsibility. According to him, India is one of the most dynamic and diverse two-wheeler markets in the world.

The company hopes that under his leadership, Yamaha Motor India will further strengthen its brand position in the Indian market and capitalize on new opportunities.
