Amid political instability in Bangladesh, doubts remain over the organization of the Women's T20 World Cup. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has sought security assurance from the country's service chief for organizing the tournament. Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has given a big statement regarding this tournament.

The ICC said on Saturday that the Women's T20 World Cup will be played in Asia itself and the date of the tournament will remain the same. The Bangladesh Cricket Board will talk to the interim government of Bangladesh regarding this. The ICC said in a mail sent to the boards of all the countries participating in the T20 Women's World Cup, 'The ICC is monitoring the situation in Bangladesh and is working closely with the BCB. If it is not possible to hold the tournament in Bangladesh by that time, then the ICC will get in touch with the board and ask where it can be held. The ICC also said that the dates of the tournament will remain the same. The Bangladesh Cricket Board will meet Asif Mahmud, Youth and Sports Advisor in the interim government of Bangladesh, on Sunday regarding the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup. The Women's T20 World Cup is to be held in October. It is believed that the interim government can form an ad hoc committee to run the BCB like in 2007.

The ICC can accept such a committee as long as there is no government interference in it, especially when there are elections later. If there is a fear of government interference, the ICC will first investigate the matter and then take action. It is worth noting that the ICC recently suspended Sri Lanka Cricket from November 2023 to January 2024 because there was government interference in the board.
