Gujarat plans to set up women-run Amul milk parlours in 18,000 villages, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced in Rajkot on Saturday while launching women-focused programmes ahead of Navratri. The initiative will be implemented through an MoU between the Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company (GLPC) and Amul.
“The state government wanted to strengthen women’s economic participation and help them become self-reliant through employment and entrepreneurship,” Patel said.
Parlour allotment letters were handed over to beneficiaries at the event.
