Sourav Ganguly Death Threat: Wife Dona Also Targeted, Complaint Filed at Thakurpukur Police Station

Personal Secretary of Sourav Ganguly, Tania Bhattacharya said, "I am filing this complaint on behalf of Sourav Ganguly. For the last few months, we have been receiving letters from some unknown person who has been writing offensive things against Sourav Ganguly. At first we overlooked those letters thinking they were the creation of some people who hated Sourav Ganguly and sent those letters to show their hatred towards him. However, today we received two letters addressed to Sourav Ganguly and Dona Ganguly in which the writer not only wrote offensive things against them but also threatened the lives of Sourav Ganguly, Dona Ganguly, and other people associated with them."

The complaint states, "The severity of the threats contained in these letters has caused us concern. These letters have now progressed beyond hateful or insulting remarks to explicit threats to life and personal safety. Therefore, we believe that immediate police intervention and investigation into this matter is necessary." Given the seriousness of the matter, I request you to please take necessary action, register a complaint, investigate, identify the person sending these threatening letters, and take appropriate steps to ensure the safety of Sourav Ganguly, Dona Ganguly, and their staff."

According to reports, these letters were sent to Sourav Ganguly's home via courier. The sender's name on the packet was Arun Kumar, a resident of Belgharia. Police are currently investigating the matter.
