Second Home Whitewash in 12 Months: Srikkanth Calls Out Team India’s Failures
Kris Srikkanth, India vs South Africa Test: Srikkanth says that if the team is unable to play in home conditions, then all the matches should be played in England. His statement comes after Gautam Gambhir claimed that the 2-2 series draw against England was a major achievement.
The Indian team has been facing severe criticism after losing the Test series 2-0 at home against South Africa. From fans to former players, everyone is questioning the team's performance. This is the second time in the last 12 months that Team India has been clean swept at home. Earlier, in October-November 2024, New Zealand defeated India 3-0 in a three-match series. Meanwhile, ex-Indian captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth has also sharply criticized Team India.
Srikkanth believes that if the team cannot play in home conditions, then all the matches should be played in England. His statement came after Gautam Gambhir claimed the 2-2 series draw against England was a major achievement.
On his YouTube channel, Srikkanth said, "The problem now is that you're stuck with spinning tracks and fast bowling pitches. What do they want now? In Kolkata, they said they wanted a similar pitch. Well, the Guwahati pitch was excellent for batting. There was no fault in it. Simon Harmer bowled brilliantly."

Srikkant then laughed and quipped, "I have a brilliant idea for India to perform well. India should play at neutral venues. All Test series should be held in England. Indian fans come there and the team plays well. Players can vacation in Britain and go to watch matches. You said that Indians performed well in England, so they will perform well there again. There should be no more domestic Test matches in India."
He further said, "Criticism must be accepted. It must be said, 'Yes, we made a mistake,' or that there are flaws in the system and they need to be corrected. If you are transparent, that's fine. Teams lose matches, series, even home series, but you can't deny mistakes. Analysis must be done. You removed Abhishek Nayar after the Australia tour. You pointed fingers at him. So how is this performance now? Who is responsible? Who will question him? He is like a king's pet."
According to Srikkanth, the players must also understand their responsibility. He said, "Can't these batsmen survive for seven hours and save the match? If you can't win, you can at least draw it!"
