According to IIM Mumbai's report, "Future Talent Requirements in Logistics: Vision 2047," the logistics sector is expected to require approximately 11.5 million additional professionals by 2030. New employment opportunities will emerge in sectors such as transportation, warehousing, distribution, and freight forwarding. This estimate comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated three crucial sections of the approximately 1,506-kilometer-long WDFC between Dadri in Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai.
The Western-Department of Transport (WDT) Corridor, connecting Dadri in Uttar Pradesh to JNPT in Mumbai, has become operational and is having a positive impact on businesses. India's logistics sector currently contributes approximately 13% to GDP and is projected to reach approximately ₹47.12 lakh crore by 2030. The next leap in logistics will come not only from infrastructure but also from technology and improved coordination.
