The Supreme Court Bar Association has written to Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud to consider its request to install the statue of the country's first President and the CBI in the premises of the top court.

Bar association secretary Rohit Pandey said the letter was to bring to the notice of the present CJI the proposal to install statues of the first President Rajendra Prasad and the first CJI Justice HJ Kania. The letter written on April 26 said that these statues would be a true tribute to both eminent personalities.

The small park is being beautified, and it is suggested that the statues be erected on the sides of Gates C and D. The letter states that the Bar Association would be appreciative if the relevant department were to receive the necessary instructions to install the aforementioned statues in the parks after considering this request.
