RSS chief praised late Moropant Pingle, said - he was a symbol of humility and foresight
Mohan Bhagwat: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat praised the selfless patriotism and foresight of the late Moropant Pingle. Bhagwat recalled the senior RSS leader's ability to explain complex ideas in simple language and the art of connecting with people. He particularly praised Pingle's contribution to nation building and his humility.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday referred to Sangh ideologue late Moropant Pingle as an icon of selflessness. Bhagwat was speaking at a book release ceremony in Nagpur. Bhagwat spoke of Pingle's unobtrusive dedication towards nation-building and his capacity to reach out to people across ideological divisions.
Following the publication of the book 'Moropant Pingle: Architect of Hindu Resurgence', Bhagwat remembered the senior RS leader's humility, foresight, and his ability to present complex concepts in simple words. Bhagwat added, Moropant was the embodiment of utter selflessness. He did a lot of things, and he did them thinking how these things would contribute to nation building.
Bhagwat described Pingle's prophecies during the political transition after the Emergency (1975). He said, when the elections were discussed, Moropant had said that if all the opposition parties come together, they will win around 276 seats and when the results came, only 276 seats were won. The RSS chief said, when the results were announced, Moropant was at Sajjangarh fort in Satara district, where he was away from discussions.
He told that Pingle spent his last days in Nagpur. He never mentioned his achievements. He used to smile and change the topic. He used to avoid going to any felicitation ceremony. He used to laugh and joke to avoid any praise. Bhagwat mentioned Pingle's contribution in the Rath Yatra from Gangasagar to Somnath. His work was described in a newspaper as similar to 'military discipline', he said.
Wherever he spoke, people felt relaxed. He would answer difficult questions posed by RSS volunteers simply and say, "Come to RSS shakha, play; it will automatically contribute to Hindu Rashtra," Bhagwat said. The RSS chief also highlighted Pingle's scientific and spiritual endeavours. "He used to travel with scientists for the revival of the Saraswati river. He connected many people to RSS and constructive work. Many people were not volunteers, but they joined only because of him," Bhagwat said.
