A fitness camp for Bangladeshi players has been arranged ahead of the domestic T20 series against the Netherlands and the Asia Cup. Fast bowler Nahid Rana has made a good impression here. The other players of the team were seen struggling to achieve the set standards. According to Cricbuzz report, the 1600-meter run and 40 meter sprint test have replaced Yo-Yo and beep test after new strength and conditioning coach Nathan Keeley took charge. A skill camp is to be organized in Sylhet on August 20.

Bangladesh's T20 captain Liton Kumar Das and Tauheed could not attend the heart fitness test. Nurul Hasan Sohan, Saif Hasan, Afif Hossain, and Mahidul Islam Ankon also did not appear for the fitness test as they were on the Australia tour (with the A team). A total of 25 players were initially selected.

The report also said that Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, along with Tanvir Islam and Shamim Patwari took around eight minutes to complete the 1600-metre race. Rana was the best among the cricketers who took part in the fitness test. He completed the 1600-metre race in just 5 minutes 31 seconds. A member of the team management said on Sunday, "Rana performed brilliantly. Some other players also performed well, but some cricketers could not live up to our expectations."

Mehdi Hasan Miraz finished second in the first batch of the 1600 m race with a time of 6 minutes 1 second, while Mushfiqur Rahim, who has retired from ODIs and T20 Internationals, finished third by completing the test in 6 minutes 10 seconds. Tanzim Hasan Sakib completed the 1600m test in 5 minutes 53 seconds in the second group of 15 cricketers. He was followed by Shahadat Hossain Deepu, who finished the race in 6 minutes, while Parvez Hossain Emon finished third with 6 minutes and 13 seconds.
