Key Highlights:

  • About 12.75 lakh appointment letters have been issued across 20 editions of the National Rozgar Mela since its October 2022 launch.
  • Recruits have joined ministries including Railways, Home Affairs, Posts, Health and Family Welfare, and Financial Services.
  • The 20th edition was held Saturday, with PM Modi distributing over 51,000 appointment letters via video conferencing.
  • Recruitment is carried out through UPSC, SSC and Railway Recruitment Boards, among other designated agencies.
  • The initiative combines recruitment with skill development, career counselling and entrepreneurship support, run by NSDC with Sector Skill Councils and PMKKs.

A Major Milestone in Public Recruitment

About 12.75 lakh appointment letters have been issued as part of the 'National Rozgar Mela' across 20 editions to date, according to a government factsheet released on Saturday, marking a significant scale of achievement for the recruitment initiative since its launch.

From a Modest Target to a Nationwide Mission

Launched in October 2022 with an initial target of 10 lakh government jobs, the initiative has evolved into a nationwide mission-mode recruitment effort, having already surpassed its original goal by a considerable margin across the course of 20 editions.

Ministries and Departments Involved

"The new recruits have joined the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Labour and Employment, and many other departments," said the factsheet, indicating that the recruitment drive has spanned a wide cross-section of the central government's administrative machinery rather than being concentrated in any single sector.
