Sajjan Jindal: The wedding of former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's grandson Zaid Hussain Nawaz was recently held in Lahore with great pomp. Indian industrialist Sajjan Jindal attended the wedding of former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's grandson with his family in Lahore. A PML-N leader gave information on Thursday that JSW Steel Managing Director Sajjan Jindal was among the 700 local and foreign guests who attended the wedding ceremony of Nawaz Sharif's grandson Zaid Hussain Nawaz at Jati Umra Raiwind residence in Lahore on Sunday.

A senior leader of the ruling party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party in Pakistan said that many other Indians also attended this wedding. The Jindal family has strong ties with the Sharif family and the Jindal family had reportedly helped Nawaz Sharif's son Hussain Nawaz to set up a steel mill in the Gulf.

The Sharif family kept the one-day visit of Indian guests, particularly the Sajjan Jindal family, low-key. According to the information, the Jindal family reached Lahore from Mumbai by a special plane. At the same time, heavy police force was deployed in and around Jati Umra for the security of the guests.

While some sections of the media even reported that the family of Nawaz Sharif originally hailed from Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir. Muhammad Sharif, the father of Nawaz Sharif, settled in Jati Umra of Amritsar in the 1930s, after which, during the partition of the country, his entire family settled in Lahore. Nawaz Sharif was the first man from the business family who join politics, after which other members of the family entered politics. In this, the younger brother Shahbaz Sharif is presently the Prime Minister of Pakistan, while Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz is the Chief Minister of Pakistan's Punjab province.
