India Set to Finalize $450-Million BrahMos Export Deal; Operation Sindoor Boosts Interest
India is about to finalize a $450 million defense agreement for the supply of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. This missile was used to attack a Pakistani air base in May. The missile's performance has had a profound impact on friendly countries. The Ministry of Defense has approved orders for BrahMos missiles for the Navy and Air Force.
Pakistan had a taste of the BrahMos during Operation Sindoor, and now it is time for the world to see it in action. India is said to be closing a nearly $450 million defense deal to export the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. The missile was among those fired when it attacked a Pakistani air base during the four-day war in May, forcing the terrorist nation to raise its white flag in defeat.
Defense sources told news agency ANI, "These deals are expected to be signed soon and are currently in the final stages. More agreements are expected to follow, as many other countries around the world are very interested in these missiles."
According to officials, "Friendly countries have been very impressed with the missile's performance." They added that its accurate targeting of Pakistani air bases after Operation Sindoor rendered several sites inoperable for several days.

This missile, jointly developed by India and Russia, was recently showcased at the Dubai Air Show, generating considerable interest from potential buyers. Shortly after the border clashes, the Ministry of Defense approved a large order of BrahMos missiles for the Indian Navy, as well as land- and air-launched variants for the Indian Air Force.
The Navy intends to deploy the missile on its Veer-class warships, while the Air Force will integrate it with its Russian Su-30 MKI fighter jets. PM Narendra Modi, speaking on the May fighting, has time and again underlined the performance of indigenous weapon systems. He has said that Operation Sindoor showcased the strength of India's air defence platforms, missiles, and drones-especially the BrahMos.
