Hyundai Motor India Limited has ventured into the commercial mobility market through its new Prime Taxi series in the Indian automotive market. This range includes the Prime HB and Prime SD models.

The Prime HB is a hatchback derived from the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios model, and Prime SD is a sedan derived from the Hyundai Aura platform. These models have been designed to cater to the specific requirements of taxi and fleet operators, requiring strong performance, economy, and comfort for the passengers being carried in the vehicle.

The Prime HB series has been priced from ₹599,900, while the Prime SD series comes at a price of ₹689,900. This makes it an attractive choice for cab services. The buyers can opt for the cab model by booking it from any showroom of Hyundai, which requires a booking amount of ₹5,000.

Both the Prime HB and Prime SD are powered by a 1.2-liter Kappa 4-cylinder petrol and CNG engine, which Hyundai considers "highly reliable." The company-fitted CNG setup keeps these vehicles' operating costs low and increases their per-kilometer earnings potential.

The Prime Taxi range focuses on safety, comfort, and convenience. Both models feature six airbags, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering-mounted controls, speakers, and a front-row fast USB Type-C charger. Features include front and rear power windows, a rear defogger, central locking, rear parking sensors, three-point seat belts, and an emergency stop signal. A company-fitted speed limiting function is set at 80 km/h, which complies with taxi regulations.

The Prime HB offers additional features like rear adjustable headrests and keyless entry. Driver seat height adjustment and footwell lighting are available on both models. Overall, the Hyundai Prime Taxi range is designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and reliable mobility experience for both drivers and passengers.

Hyundai has also introduced extended warranty options for the Prime Taxi range. This includes coverage for the fourth and fifth year, or up to 180,000 kilometers, which can significantly reduce maintenance costs for high-traffic taxi vehicles. Additionally, flexible finance plans with tenures up to 72 months are available, making ownership easier for both first-time taxi buyers and large fleet operators. Hyundai's nationwide sales and service network will ensure superior uptime and prompt service for these vehicles. Trained Fleet Care Advisors deployed at dealerships will provide specialized assistance to taxi customers.

Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO-designate, Hyundai Motor India, said at the launch that the company is proudly entering the commercial mobility space with the Prime HB and Prime SD. He added that taxi drivers and fleet operators desire vehicles with high uptime, predictable maintenance, and low operating costs. The Prime range has been developed with these needs in mind. Hyundai's extensive service network, attractive warranty, and low-cost ownership packages will help commercial customers increase their revenue while also providing a safe and comfortable travel experience for passengers.
