Gujarat Titans gave important responsibility to former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel before IPL auction
Gujarat Titans have appointed Parthiv Patel as their new assistant and batting coach. Parthiv has also played for several IPL teams including Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Parthiv Patel, a former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman has been appointed as the new assistant and batting coach of Gujarat Titans before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. A statement from the franchise said, "Gujarat Titans are delighted to announce the appointment of Parthiv Patel as their new assistant and batting coach. With an illustrious career spanning 17 years as a former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, Parthiv brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team."
Parthiv's IPL career started with Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural edition of 2008. He grew to become one of the most consistent players in the league with 139 matches to his credit, scoring 2848 runs at an average of 22.60 along with 13 half-centuries. His highest score is 81 runs, along with 365 fours and 49 sixes.
Parthiv has represented many teams in the IPL, including Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. He is also a two-time champion in the IPL, for Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
Aside from his playing career, Parthiv has also worked as a talent scout for Mumbai Indians for three years. He also became the batting coach for the Mumbai Emirates in 2023. Parthiv has represented India in 25 Tests, 38 ODIs, and a few T20Is. The left-handed batsman also appeared in 194 first-class matches for Gujarat, in which he scored 11240 runs.
