Today, i.e. from 25 November, the World Chess Championship 2024 is starting which will run till 15 December 2024. On this special occasion, Google has also created a great doodle. Through its doodle today, Google has celebrated the historical and strategic game of chess, which is played on a board with 64 black and white squares.

This is an Indian chess game from the sixth century, famous for its complicated moves and eventful history. Its rules largely developed in the 15th century after which the first international competition took place in 1851. Since then, chess has taken more new leaps, and with new additions like speed chess and time match, this classic game has gotten even more exciting.

Now, this is a special celebration, as this coming November and December, the World Chess Championship will be organized here in Singapore. There will be 14 classical games where a single game can take greater than four hours. The player who takes a lead of 7.5 points shall win. If the score turns out to be a draw, then the winner will be cleared through fast rapid, and blitz games. In these exciting matches, each of them would have to make his moves in only three minutes.

Google shared a fun message about chess: "1. e4. That's right, chess time has come!" "Chess is a two-player game in which strategy is the most important factor. The game has been played in India since the 6th century and by the 15th century, its rules had evolved into their modern counterparts. The first international tournament was held in 1851. Subsequently, new formats such as timed and speed chess were introduced, where players can surprise their opponents with their swift moves," the doodle said.
