Key Highlights

  • The showcase: MeitY’s pavilion at India Mobile Congress 2026 highlighted key Digital India platforms.

At the 10th India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, running till October 10, the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) set up a pavilion to show how digital platforms are changing access to government services. While IMC is best known for 5G and telecom, the pavilion focused on tools that millions of citizens can use every day.

Digital India Tools, Explained

DigiLocker Stores official documents like certificates and licences digitally Citizens
UMANG One app to access many government services Citizens
Aadhaar Digital identity for verification Citizens

Why It Matters: Making Services Work for Everyone

Many of these tools solve everyday problems: carrying physical documents, visiting multiple offices or struggling with services available only in English. Bhashini, in particular, matters in a country where most people prefer their own language online, as it aims to make digital services usable across Indian languages.

The pavilion also highlighted the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) framework, which governs how personal data must be handled. As more services go digital, protecting citizens’ data becomes as important as making services accessible.
