A deepfake video of RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has gone viral. In this, the RBI Governor is talking about starting some investment schemes or investing money in them. RBI has warned the public not to fall prey to such fake videos. RBI officials never advise investing in any product.

In the latest case, fraudsters have created a 'deepfake video' of RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das. In this, the RBI Governor is talking about starting or supporting some investment schemes. It is being said that these schemes are being run by the central bank i.e. RBI.
RBI has warned against the 'deepfake' i.e. fake video of Governor Shaktikanta Das going viral on social media. RBI said in a statement issued on Tuesday, 'It has come to our notice that fake videos of the Governor are being circulated in the internet media. In this, it is claimed that RBI has started or supported some investment schemes.'
The video tries to advise people to invest their money in such schemes through the use of technical tools. The statement said, 'RBI clarifies that its officials are not involved in or support any such activity and these videos are completely fake. RBI never gives any financial investment advice.'
