Avinya X May Become Faster-Charging and More Affordable After Platform Switch
TATA Avinya EV: Tata Motors is launching several vehicles in 2026. Now, the company is developing its new Avinya EV range on a new platform, which could be launched by 2027.
Tata Motors is gearing up for a jam-packed year in 2026. They've already kicked things off by starting deliveries of the Sierra SUV and unveiling the Punch Facelift, Punch EV Facelift, Tiago Facelift, and Tiago EV Facelift. On top of that, the brand-new Avinya lineup of vehicles is slated to hit the market in 2026 too.
The first model in the Avinya series will be the Avinya X Coupe SUV. Now, here's a twist: there are reports suggesting Tata might ditch the previously announced JLR EMA platform for this vehicle. In its place, they could go with the newer platform debuted on the recently showcased Freelander EV.
Adding to this, the production version of the Avinya X is internally named P2. Sources hint that it'll be built on a modified version of Chery’s premium EOX platform, often referred to as the iMAX platform. The neat thing about this setup? It supports electric systems up to 800V and boasts DC fast charging capabilities up to 350 kW.
