If you also use any Apple device then there is big news for you. Apple has warned its users about a major cyber attack. Apple has said that users from 91 countries of the world including India can become victims of spyware like Pegasus at any time. Earlier, Apple had sent a similar alert to many opposition leaders in October last year, after which there was a lot of controversy.
In 2021, the Pegasus attack on the iPhone was the subject of an order by the Supreme Court to establish a committee tasked with looking into the attack. NSO Group, an Israeli corporation, developed the Pegasus spyware. Any phone may be hacked with Pegasus, and the user won't even be aware that their phone has been hacked.
This committee reported in August 2022 that after looking over 29 smartphones, they had not seen any indications that Pegasus spyware was present. It was alleged at the time that Pegasus was being used to monitor the phones of numerous Indian journalists and social workers. After this incident, Apple began warning consumers ahead of time about potential hacking.
