WinZO Used Bots and AI to Manipulate Games, Claims Enforcement Directorate
The ED has filed a chargesheet against the online gaming app WinZO and its promoters. The ED alleges that WinZO used bots and AI to manipulate game algorithms, causing losses of ₹734 crore to players. Despite claiming transparency, WinZO is accused of fraud. This action was taken by the Bengaluru regional office.
The ED, on Sunday, said that it has filed a chargesheet against the online gaming app WinZO and its promoters. The ED has accused the company of causing a loss of ₹734crore to its players by utilizing bots and AI to alter the game’s algorithm.
The Bengaluru regional office of ED filed a chargesheet in the court on January 23. The chargesheet names WinZO Private Limited, its directors Pawan Nanda and Saumya Singh Rathore, and its wholly owned subsidiaries, including foreign companies as accused parties.
The accused parties include Winzo US Inc., USA Winzo SGPVT Ltd., and J Private Limited. According to the ED, Winzo operated over 100 games on its mobile app and claimed to have 250 million subscribers, most of whom were from tier 3 and 4 cities.

The central government banned money-related gaming apps in India in August 2025. The ED further stated, "For providing gaming services, the company charged users a certain percentage of the betting amount as commission. The company also assured its users that its gaming platform was free from any bots (computer-controlled characters), transparent, and secure."
